You’ll find that the Oran is easily a match-with-everything kind. The slide sandal is also surprisingly versatile to style - with a white button-front shirt and blue jeans, a cotton lace summer dress, a flowy floral-printed maxi kaftan, tailored separates, or a T-shirt & denim skirt OOTD.

Made in Italy, every Hermes Oran sandal embodies flawless artisanship and heralds the ideas of comfort, durability, and timelessness. The immaculately-formed soles support each step so that you can walk in them for hours on end. The open-toe construction allows your feet to breathe and move freely with you, without any pinching sensation or constraint to your toes. The letter H - a notable element representing the French House - remains the center of interest in a manner of sophistication and simplicity that’s so true to the brand. A closer look at the popular Hermes Oran sandals And though decades have passed, the sandal has wonderfully endured, proving that it is as eternal as the maison’s bags. Thus, the classic appeared with a clean H on the uppers and a low-heeled sole as the base. It was by an African tribe, consisting of graphic patterns seen painted on their houses. The designer was inspired by a drawing he saw. Pierre Hardy designed the Oran in 1997 as a simple no-shoe sort of slip-on to offer the wearer the illusion of being barefoot. Years later, Hardy has many successful silhouettes credited to his name, including the Oran sandal. I would say they are on par with regular heels (in terms of "comfort") and less on the wedge scale of comfort (because traditionally wedges IMO are more comfortable). The legendary Hermes Oran sandals are a chic girl’s ultimate summer essential.įrench shoe designer Pierre Hardy joined Hermes in 1990 at a time when no shoe collection existed. They have little to no support on the ball of your feet so after about an hour or two my feet do start to hurt. Comfort: Out of the three these are definitely the least comfortable. I don't know if I would size up or size down because I don't believe they would fit properly. Sizing: These I would also say run TTS as I wear a 38 in them (normally a size 8 in US). You can see them styled in THIS and THIS blog post. I love them for a more formal occasion and when I want some extra height. They have a thinner H at the top of the foot, a ~3 inch wedge heel and a leather strap for around the ankle. These are more of a traditional wedge vs a casual sandal but I love them. Very random because I haven't really seen them out there since and even more crazy because they were my perfect size. LEGEND HERMES SANDALS: -Overview + Thoughts: I remember randomly stumbling on these on eBay one day and scooping them up right away. Because there is an extra weight of the heel flapping around they also are a tad bit noisy.
HERMES ORAN SANDALS FULL
Comfort: They are comfortable but after a full day of walking the edges of the H will start to rub on the outside of your feet. Like above, I could probably size up and be ok but would not size down. I wear a 39 in both my white and brown pair when I would normally be a 38. Sizing: These I would say run a size small. You can see them styled in THIS (in white) and THIS (in brown) blog post. Perfect for when you want a little length to the leg but don't want to be showing up in full heels. They are great for dressing up or dressing down and I would say are the most versatile of the three listed here. OASIS HERMES SANDALS: -Overview + Thoughts: These are the exact same as the Oran sandal except there is ~2 inch block heel on the end. Links to Oran sandals on eBay, The Real Real and Vestiaire Collective. Comfort: Out of the three these are the most comfortable to wear because there is no heel. I'm sure if I went up a size I would still be fine if I went down, I would not. Sizing: TTS - I wear an 8 in everyday shoes and own a size 38 in these. I have them in white but am looking to get a black pair! You can see them on in THIS and THIS blog post. Out of the three these (IMO) are the most popular style and the most comfortable. They have no heel, no support and are just comprised of a letter sole and a "H" strap over the top of your feet. ORAN HERMES SANDALS: -Overview + Thoughts: The Oran slides are the traditional flat H Hermes sandals.
